Tracking possible frost, cool and sunny days ahead

Mostly cloudy and breezy conditions Wednesday afternoon will give way to clearing skies, light winds, and chilly temperatures overnight. Frost is possible across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas early Thursday morning as temperatures near the freezing mark.

A Frost Advisory has been issued region-wide from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday. Cold sensitive vegetation should be protected as areas of light frost could be damaging, although a hard freeze is not expected.

Cool, dry, and mostly sunny days will make for a fair end to the week, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 50s through Halloween. Overnight lows are likely to fall near freezing Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night- bringing additional opportunities for early morning frost. Sunshine persists through the weekend, giving way to a warming trend early next week as afternoon highs return to the 60s with overnight lows well above freezing
