Tracking chilly rain and gusty winds

Chilly rain and gusty winds will continue across the Mid-Missouri River Valley Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, as a low-pressure system passes through the region.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for much of Northwest Missouri and all of Northeast Kansas from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Wednesday. Wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph will be possible across the advisory area. Unsecured objects could be blown around, and fallen tree limbs could cause scattered power outages.

A 90% chance of rain persists overnight with temperatures falling from near 50 degrees into the mid to low 40s after sunset. Mostly cloudy skies and a 40% chance of showers lingers early Wednesday before conditions dry out for the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 50s and gusty northwest winds. Sunshine returns Thursday and Friday, with highs in the mid to upper 50s and overnight lows in the mid to low 30s.
