Tracking a cloudy and showery end to the week

Abundant sunshine Thursday afternoon will give way to increasing clouds after sunset as a low-pressure system spreads moisture into Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kanas. Mostly cloudy skies and rain chances arrive Friday and continue through the weekend, along with seasonably cool temperatures. While a risk for passing showers will persist this weekend and into early next week, there will also be plenty of dry time as ingredients for widespread heavy rainfall will be in short supply.
