Tracking lingering clouds, sunny and warmer mid-week

Mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers will linger across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Tuesday evening, before sunshine and above average temperatures return Wednesday and Thursday. A cold front arrives late Friday, bringing rain and thunderstorm chances followed by cooler air this weekend.

Cloudy conditions and a 20% chance of showers and patchy drizzle remain Tuesday evening and overnight with lows falling into the mid to low 60s and light winds. Early morning clouds give way to mostly sunny skies Wednesday afternoon, with lights in the low to mid 80s and southerly winds at 10 to 15 mph. Sunshine and southerly breezes persists Thursday with highs in the low 80s.
