Tracking dry skies and toasty temperatures

Above average temperatures and dry skies will persist across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through the work week, with periods of cloud coverage Tuesday and Wednesday followed by more abundant sunshine Thursday and Friday.

Partly sunny skies and mid to upper 80s Monday afternoon will give way to increasing clouds overnight with lows falling to near 60 degrees after midnight and light winds. Passing clouds and peaks of sunshine continue Tuesday with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s and southeast breezes at 5 to 10 mph. Partly cloudy conditions persist Wednesday, with no chance of rain and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s. Abundant sunshine will allow for a slight warming trend for the second half of the week as highs approach 90 degrees Thursday and Friday. Despite hot daytime temperatures, late nights and early mornings will remain cool with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s each day.
