Tracking warm and sunny days ahead

Warm days, cool nights, and lots of sunshine are in store for Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas as a dry and quiet pattern settles into the region for the next 5 to 7 days. Temperatures will climb several degrees above average through the weekend, making for a toasty end to September.

Sunshine and low 80s Thursday afternoon will give way to a mostly clear and cool night with lows falling into the mid 50s by early Friday morning and light winds. Aside from patchy fog early on, the final day of the work week brings abundant sunshine and highs in the low to mid 80s with light southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Daytime high temperatures will continue to rise through the weekend, topping out in the mid to upper 80s each day, roughly 7 to 10 degrees above average. Despite periods of afternoon heat, late night and early morning low temperatures will routinely fall onto the upper 50s to near 60 degrees.
