Tracking t-storm chances, spotty severe threat

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to develop across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Monday evening and overnight. A few storms may contain hail and damaging wind gusts, especially across far Northern Missouri through early Tuesday morning. Cloudy skies, showers, and cool temperatures will linger Tuesday before a drying and warming trend returns to the region mid to late week.

Partly sunny skies and 80s Monday afternoon will give way to increasing clouds and a 30% to 40% chance of isolated showers and t-storms after sunset. Rain and t-storm chances increase to 60% by early Tuesday morning, with lows falling into the mid 60s. Spotty strong to severe storms could produce sizable hail and damaging winds through day-break Tuesday, mainly north of the Highway 36 corridor.

Mostly cloudy skies and a 60% chance of showers and storms continues Tuesday afternoon with highs in the low 70s, no severe weather is expected. A slight chance of showers continues Wednesday with highs once again in the low to mid 70s. Sunshine and warmer temperatures build into the area Thursday and Friday as highs climb back into the upper 70s and low 80s.
