Tracking September heat and sunshine

Mostly sunny and toasty conditions have developed across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Wednesday afternoon. Above average temperatures and dry skies will continue through the work week, as summer-like heat builds into the region over the next several days. Afternoon high temperatures are likely to reach the upper 80s to low 90s Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Temperatures remain warm Wednesday evening before cooling off into the 70s and eventually mid to low 60s after midnight with mostly clear skies and light southerly breezes. Sunshine, southerly breezes, and afternoon heat continue Thursday as highs reach the upper 80s to low 90s. By Friday southerly breezes will pick up and become more gusty, with sunshine persisting and afternoon highs in the low 90s.
