Tracking sunshine and summer-like heat

After a wet start to Tuesday across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas, mostly clear skies and mild conditions have returned for the afternoon and evening. Mostly sunny days and above average temperatures will prevail through the rest of this week, as a steady warming trend takes hold of the region promoting the return of summer-like heat.

Mid to upper 70s and sunshine Tuesday afternoon will give way to a cool and dry night with lows falling to near 60 degrees after midnight, light winds, and clear skies. Mostly sunny conditions return Wednesday, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s. Above average temperatures continue to build Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as afternoon highs rise into the low 90s with plenty of sunshine.
