Tracking a warm and dry start to the weekend, increasing rain chances

Seasonably warm and dry conditions will continue across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Friday and much of Saturday, before rain chances increase Sunday and Labor Day as a low pressure system slowly tracks across the region.

Mostly sunny skies and 80s Friday afternoon and evening will give way to a cool and dry night with lows falling into the 50s and light winds. Saturday brings an increase in cloud cover with periods of sunshine and afternoon highs in the low 80s. A slight chance of stray t-showers will develop by Saturday evening followed by better chances for scattered to widespread showers and non-severe thunderstorms Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will cool considerably due to cloudy skies and rainfall, with highs in the low to mid 70s Sunday and Labor day.

Rain chances diminish by the middle of next week, and temperatures will trend even cooler as highs remain 10 to 20 degrees below average through much of next week.
