Tracking mainly dry and mild days ahead

Despite increasing cloud coverage and a slim chance of showers, mainly dry and mild conditions will persist across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Wednesday night and Thursday. Below average temperatures will also continue through mid to late week, before a modest warming trend sets up for the start of Labor Day weekend.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies linger across the region Wednesday evening and overnight, with a 20% chance of showers along and south of the Highway - 36 corridor after midnight. Slight rain chances and considerable cloud cover will linger into Thursday morning, with most remaining dry locally as higher chances for rain remain along and south of I-70.
Upper 70s and low 80s Wednesday afternoon will give way to low 60s and upper 50s overnight. Highs Thursday afternoon will rebound into the upper 70s and low 80s. A modest warming trend will begin building across the region Friday, as highs return to the low 80s and sunshine becomes more prevalent. High temperatures will remain in the low 80s through Labor Day weekend with overnight lows falling into the upper 50s.
