Tracking a dry and toasty mid-week

Patchy cloud coverage and slight rain chances Tuesday evening will give way to mostly sunny skies and toasty afternoons through the middle and later half of the work week. A cold front will sweep through Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Friday evening, bringing a brief period of spotty rain chances before ushering in cooler air just in time for the weekend.

Upper 80s, partly cloudy skies, and a 20% chance of stray t-showers continues through sunset Tuesday. Clouds will decrease overnight and temperatures will fall into the 70s and eventually upper 60s after midnight with winds remaining light. Sunshine will prevail Wednesday with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s and northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph. Seasonably hot, mostly sunny, and dry conditions persist Thursday and much of Friday. Spotty rain and thunderstorm chances return Friday evening and overnight, potentially lingering into Saturday morning as a cold front pushes across the region. By Sunday, high temperatures will fall into the 70s! Dry skies and afternoon 70s are likely to persist into the start of next week, with overnight lows falling well into the 50s.
