Tracking weekend t-storms, flood risk

Rounds of thunderstorm activity are likely across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas late Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday, posing a risk for heavy rainfall and flooding. Thunderstorm coverage will increase Saturday night and Sunday with 60% to 80% chances across the area. A second round of thunderstorms is likely Sunday night through Monday morning. Aside from heavy rainfall and flood concerns, a few storms may be severe with damaging wind gusts being the primary hazard.

A Flood Watch has been issued for all of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through 7 a.m. Monday morning, August 11. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are likely across the watch area, with locally higher totals possible, especially east of the I-35 corridor.
