Tracking t-storm chances, hot and steamy days ahead

Hot and humid conditions will prevail across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through the end of the work week and much of the weekend, between chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms.

A round of t-storms Wednesday morning has given way to a hot and mostly sunny afternoon. Skies are forecast to remain dry through Wednesday evening with 80s giving way to 70s overnight and light southerly breezes. A 30% to 40% chance of scattered t-storms returns early Thursday morning. Rain chances diminish after lunchtime Thursday with mostly sunny skies, afternoon highs in the low to mid 90s, and southerly winds at 10 to 20 mph. Heat indices will peak near 100 degrees as humid air remains in place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Rain chances will subside Friday and much of Saturday with sunshine prevailing, before additional opportunities for t-storm activity return Saturday night and Sunday.
