Tracking weekend heat, isolated t-storm chances

Mostly cloudy, mild, and dry conditions have settled into Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Thursday afternoon, following overnight thunderstorms that triggered flooding across the Kansas City metro. Clouds will linger through much of Thursday night, and rain chances will remain slim-to-none with overnight lows falling into the mid to upper 60s. Periods of sunshine and afternoon heat will make a come-back Friday, as highs reach the mid to upper 80s. Isolated t-storm chances also return Friday, with a 30% chance of rain for the late afternoon and evening hours. Mostly sunny, hot, and humid conditions will prevail this weekend, with highs in the low to mid 90s and a 20% chance of stray t-storms. High intensity heat dominates the forecast through much of next week, as temperatures approach the upper 90s and potentially triple digits for several days in a row.
