Tracking late-week cloud cover, spotty rain chances

Increased cloud cover and spotty rain chances will linger across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through the end of the work week. More sunshine and toasty temperatures will return to start the weekend, giving way to more spotty t-storm chances and hot muggy days in the extended forecast. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will prevail Thursday evening and overnight with a 20% chance of stray t-showers and lows falling into the upper 60s after midnight. Considerable cloud cover will linger on Friday, keeping afternoon highs in the mid 80s rather than low 90s. Most will remain dry Friday, despite a 10% to 20% of stray showers. Periods of sunshine will break out across the region Saturday, allowing afternoon highs to warm into the upper 80s and low 90s.
