Tracking warm and sunny days ahead

Mostly sunny skies have returned to Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Thursday afternoon, as a high pressure system works its way into the region. Mostly clear skies continue tonight, with temperatures falling out of the 70s and into the low 50s after midnight, and light northeast breezes. Sunshine is forecast to prevail for at least the next 3 to 5 days, paired with a gradual but steady warming trend. Highs Friday afternoon will rise into the upper 70s, followed by low 80s both Saturday and Sunday, with light breezes through much of the weekend. By the middle of next week, temperatures are likely to rise well above average as an expansive ridging pattern promotes more sunshine and a warming airmass.
