Tracking a sunny and seasonable start to the work week

Mostly clear skies and seasonably mild temperatures will continue Monday night and into Tuesday across the Mid-Missouri River Valley. Temperatures overnight will cool into the low 50s after midnight with light winds and dry conditions. A few locations north of highway 36 could fall into the upper 40s by early Tuesday morning. Sunshine will prevail Tuesday helping promote another warm afternoon as highs reach the mid 70s with light easterly breezes at 5 to 10 mph. Increasing clouds and spotty rain chances will return by Wednesday, as a low pressure system passes south of the region. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible mid-week, although severe weather is not anticipated.
