Rounds of thunderstorm activity are likely across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas late Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday, posing a risk for heavy rainfall and flooding.

A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 8.

Hazy skies are lingering across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Saturday, as smoke from wildfires in Canada filters into the region. Mainly dry and mild conditions will persist through the weekend, with only slight chances for spotty showers Sunday and Monday.

Poor air quality is continuing to linger across the Mid-Missouri River Valley Friday, as smoke from wildfires in Canada blows into the region. An Air Quality Alerts has been issued for the Kansas City metro, and all points north of the Iowa border through Saturday as northeasterly winds will persist allowing smokey and hazy skies to remain in place. Mainly dry and mild conditions will dominate conditions through the weekend, as an unseasonably cool air mass sticks around.
