Tracking a warm and humid Friday: mostly dry weekend

Happy Friday St. Joseph! This morning, a low-pressure system near the Kansas-Oklahoma-Missouri border is pushing widespread rainfall across the I-70 and I-44 corridor. Here in our area, we’ll stay dry through the morning.

This afternoon and evening, there is a slight chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms. With dew points in the mid-60s, it will be humid once again. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the mid-80s, with light winds. Tonight, skies will begin to clear, and temperatures will drop into the mid-60s.

On Saturday, sunshine returns with mostly sunny skies. It will be hot and humid, feeling very summer-like, with highs in the upper 80s. Saturday night will remain dry, with lows in the upper 60s and light winds.

For Father’s Day on Sunday, there is a slight chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will stay toasty, with highs in the upper 80s. An active pattern of showers and thunderstorms looks to continue into early next week.
