Tracking strong storms, severe threat Monday afternoon and evening
Strong to severe thunderstorms are likely across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Monday afternoon and evening, as a low pressure system tracks across the region. Primary hazards with any storms that develop from 2 PM to 10 PM Monday include damaging winds, sizable hail, and tornadoes. Heavy rainfall could also result in localized flash flooding.
A Tornado Watch has been issued for all of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through 9 PM Monday evening. Stay weather aware and have a way to receive warnings as storms fire over the next several hours.

Rounds of strong thunderstorm activity are expected across the region through tonight, with a lesser severe threat after 10 PM Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will remain possible after midnight with lows falling into the upper 50s and easterly winds at 15 to 20 mph. Mostly cloudy skies and a 30% chance of morning showers and thunderstorms will linger on Tuesday, with afternoon highs in the upper 60s and westerly winds at 15 to 25 mph. Dry, cool and breezy conditions are forecast to settle in Wednesday and Thursday. Highs through mid-week will run about 10 degrees below average, reaching the mid to upper 60s each afternoon despite periods of sunshine.
