Tracking Wednesday showers and late-week sunshine

Scattered showers will continue across parts of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Wednesday evening, as a low pressure system passes just south of the region. Rain chances remain higher south of Highway 36 through Wednesday night at 40% to 60%, with lows falling to the mid 50s after midnight and light southwest winds at 5-10 mph. A 20% chance of showers lingers early Thursday along with partly cloudy skies and afternoon highs in the mid 70s. Northerly breezes will pick-up through the day Thursday at 10 to 15 mph, occasionally gusting up to 20 mph. Overnight lows fall into the 40s Thursday night as skies clear, making for a cool and sunny start to Friday. Mostly sunny skies will prevail Friday, allowing highs to reach the mid to upper 70s ahead of another cool-off late Friday night.
