Tracking early-week showers and warm temperatures

To start off the workweek, skies are expected to stay mostly dry until late tonight, when showers are likely. Skies will start out mostly sunny, with clouds increasing throughout the day. It will be windy, with sustained south winds between 10 and 15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. Temperatures will be warm, with highs in the upper 70s. Tonight, temperatures will drop into the upper 50s for overnight lows.

Late tonight into tomorrow morning, there is a 60% chance of showers in our area. Up to a quarter inch of rain is possible, especially in far northwest Missouri. Showers are expected to linger until tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will be mild once again, with highs in the upper 70s.

A late-summer heat wave begins Wednesday, with highs in the mid-80s and climbing into the low 90s by Saturday.
