Tracking a sunny and mild weekend, warming trend next week

Mild afternoons, cool nights, and mostly clear skies continue across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through the weekend. Below average temperatures will give way to a warming trend starting early next week, and a chance of spotty showers and thunderstorms.

Sunshine and low 70s Saturday afternoon lead into another cool and dry night, as lows fall into the mid to upper 40s after midnight with light winds. Aside from patchy fog Sunday morning, sunshine will once again prevail with light southerly breezes and afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

A steady warming trend develops Monday, with continued sunshine and afternoon highs near 80 degrees. Monday night and Tuesday will bring increasing clouds and a 30% chance of spotty t-showers, followed by more sunshine and hotter afternoons as above average temperatures build across the region.
