Tracking mild Tuesday: severe t-storms possible tomorrow

This morning, a few sprinkles are possible, and it is cool with temperatures in the low 60s. Through the day, clouds will decrease, becoming partly cloudy to mostly sunny by this evening. Highs will reach the upper 70s. Tonight, skies will continue to clear, and temperatures will fall into the upper 50s.

Tomorrow, a strong cold front will move through the St. Joseph area. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible ahead of the front, with the possibility for strong to severe storms as it tracks through. Areas south of Highway 36 are under a marginal risk for severe weather.

If thunderstorms go severe, damaging winds and hail will be the primary threats. An isolated tornado is also possible, especially toward eastern Kansas along Interstate 70. Overnight lows will drop to the mid-40s.

After the front passes, a mostly dry pattern will return with cooler temperatures. Sunshine is expected Thursday with highs in the low 70s.
