Tracking late-week heat and sunshine, weekend t-storm chances

Seasonably hot and sunny conditions will persist across Northwest Missouri and Northwest Missouri to finish out the work week, before a cold front sparks thunderstorm chances before bringing much cooler air to the region.

Partly cloudy skies and 80s Thursday afternoon will give way to clear and cooler conditions overnight, with lows falling into the mid to low 60s after midnight and light winds. Sunshine will prevail Friday with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s and a 20% chance of stray t-storms after 4 p.m. . Scattered t-storms are anticipated to develop late Friday night and early Saturday morning as a cold front pouches into the area with rain chances at 20% to 40%. Cooler and drier air will promote sunshine for Sunday and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s.
