Tracking hot start to the week: isolated thunderstorms possible

This morning, thunderstorms are tracking through eastern Nebraska and could move into far northwest Missouri. Throughout the day, there will be a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms. If storms develop, they could bring heavy rainfall and gusty winds, but they are expected to remain non-severe. Highs will reach the mid-90s, though temperatures may be slightly cooler where storms occur. Heat index values will range from 95 to 100 degrees, making it feel extra hot.
Tonight, scattered storms remain possible. A few could be stronger, producing gusty winds and heavy rain especially towards northern Missouri. Lows will only drop into the low 70s, making for another warm night.
Tomorrow, as the first day of school begins, hot and humid conditions will continue. There is a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Highs will reach the low 90s, slightly cooler than today, but still hot.
The rest of the week looks more pleasant, with highs in the mid-80s and plenty of sunshine.
