This morning, skies are dry in the St. Joseph area. Showers and thunderstorms have developed in eastern Nebraska and could clip the Missouri-Iowa border in far northwest Missouri. Sunshine and a few clouds are expected through the day, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Skies will remain dry tonight, with overnight lows in the low 70s.

Temperatures will climb heading into the weekend. Tomorrow will be hot and humid, with highs in the mid-90s and dew points in the low 70s. The higher humidity will push heat index values into the triple digits.

The heat will continue through the weekend, with Saturday expected to be the hottest day. Highs will be near 95, with heat index values between 100 and 107 degrees. Be sure to take breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water.
