Tracking scattered evening storms: cooler days ahead

Showers and thunderstorms have passed this morning, with a few still lingering in far northeast and northern Missouri. Skies should will be dry with mostly cloudy skies throughout the mid-morning and lunchtime.

As a cold front moves through, scattered thunderstorms are possible again this evening, with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. A few stronger thunderstorms are possible going east on highway 36 and south towards the KC Metro. Highs will be cooler today, reaching the mid-80s, with overnight lows dropping to the mid-60s.

A few showers and storms may linger into the overnight hours and early Thursday morning. Sunshine is expected to return Friday and through the weekend, along with a stretch of below-average temperatures.
