Tracking a hot and humid Monday: severe thunderstorms possible tomorrow

To start the workweek, it will be hot and humid today. Expect plenty of sunshine with a few clouds, making for mostly sunny skies. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s to low 90s. Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear with a slight chance of showers. Overnight lows will stay warm, only dropping into the low 70s.
Tomorrow, there is a threat for severe thunderstorms across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and possibly a tornado. There is also a threat for flash flooding as we could receive up to 2-3" of rainfall. The timing looks to be later Tuesday evening into the overnight hours of Wednesday morning. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-80s.
Showers and thunderstorms may linger into Wednesday morning before drying out for the remainder of the day. It will be slightly cooler, with highs in the low 80s.
Later this week, expect plenty of sunshine and a stretch of hot temperatures.
