Rainy and cool Memorial Day holiday
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Happy Memorial Day folks! Most of the time we hope for sunny skies and warm temperatures on Memorial Day Weekend as it is the start of summer pool parties and outdoor BBQs. This year, we are not so lucky, with the entire afternoon and evening set to be rainy. None of us will be exempt from the rain this afternoon, and rain chances will continue through the rest of the week as well.
The good news is- we are not looking at any severe weather today. Today's rain will be light to moderate, with little to no thunderstorm activity expected. So while it will be rainy, at least you won't have to worry about damaging winds, hail, or tornadoes. Remain alert of the weather regardless.
It will also be a cool afternoon due to cold cover and rain chances. Highs will only reach the mid 60s, which is about 10 degrees cooler than where we should be at this time of year. Tomorrow will also be on the chilly side, though by Wednesday we will start to warm back up into the 70s. As of now, rain chances last through Thursday, with seemingly drier conditions into the weekend. We will keep you updated on any incoming rain right here on News Press Now.
