Tracking a sunny and seasonable mid-week

Sunshine has returned to Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas after a wet start to the week, following a passing cold front which also delivered fall-like temperatures. Seasonably cool and dry conditions continue through the middle of the work week, before a warming trend develops this weekend.

Abundant sunshine and highs near 70 degrees Tuesday afternoon will give way to a clear and cool night with light northeast breezes and lows in the mid 40s after midnight. A chilly start to Wednesday leads into a mild afternoon with highs in the low 70s, lots of sunshine, and light easterly breezes at 5 to 10 mph.

Dry skies continue through the end of the work week, aside from a 20% chance of stray showers late Thursday night and early Friday morning. Temperatures will gradually trend warmer by the weekend with highs rising into the low to mid 80s Friday through Sunday.
