ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) --- Missouri Western State College announced that it has hired a new baseball coach. Michael Keeran will take over as the fourth head coach in Griffon baseball history.

Keeran joins MoWest from Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Okla., where he posted a 92-28 record (.770 winning percentage) and his team was ranked as high as fourth in the nation. In 2025, Keeran was named the Region 2 Coach of the Year.

"I am very honored and blessed to be named the fourth head baseball coach at MWSU," Keeran said. "I would like to thank (Athletic Director) Andy Carter and the administration for the opportunity to restore the legacy of Griffon baseball. My family and I are excited to get to St. Joseph and be a part of Griffon Nation."

"This is a great opportunity. It's the ultimate combination of an elite conference, a great city and tradition that exists across all sports. The potential here is endless and its time to get to work."

Before becoming a head coach at Northern Oklahoma, Keeran served as an assistant coach at several levels, including Western Illinois and Bismarck State Collegee in North Dakota.

Keeran replaces Damian Stambersky, who left MoWest last month.
