ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- The St. Joseph Police Department responded to the scene of a shooting Wednesday morning in the 900 block of South 18th Street.

A detective with SJPD confirmed the shooting to News-Press NOW.

As of 4 a.m., police have South 18th blocked off from Olive to Lafayette streets.

A reporter at the scene observed evidence tags on the ground and members of the police department canvasing the area.

UPDATE: Police say there were no fatalities in the shooting.
