The uninformed

It never ceases to amaze me when I read It’s Your Call of the uninformed people and their hatred of President Trump.

The cut to NOAA had nothing to do with the tragedy that happened in Texas. The warning signals did go out, but the flood happened so quickly the children and others were not able to escape.

It is so sad how liberal Democrats show their fear mongering which is exactly what got President Trump elected. Fact, taxes will be cut on Social Security under the new Big Bill. Would any person who has lost the benefit please write in and let the public know? Another myth has been the cut to Medicaid. Yes, people who can work will be required to work and people not qualified to be on the program like illegal aliens will be cut. Would any person who has been cut from this program that does not fall into the previous statement please write in? Oh yes, we must not forget the cut to Medicare where people are dying in the streets from lack of medical treatment. Please inform the public if you have seen this.

As much as I laugh at the uninformed, I hope you will keep it up because I think President Trump as set the table for Republicans for years to come. The liberal Democrats have played the fear tactic for too long.

Oh, let’s not forget the thousands of dying people around the world due to the cut in USAID. I have not seen nor heard of this tragedy other thank the liberals who spew this falsehood. I do agree that this cut will reduce a lot of the shoveled American dollars to pet projects of the organization.

I must admit I feel sorry for the people who live in constant fear of what might happened or wish to happen to President Trump would fail. I never thought I would see Americans pray and hope for the failure of our country. I never cared for Obama or Biden but I never wanted to see them fail, and they certainly had their share of failures. I can only say to the uninformed: try to find something good because President Trump has three and a half years to go.

The dreaded rap on the door

“To convict a defendant without due process would be like knocking a brick from a wall built through many centuries to protect men from tyranny. If you knock out one today and someone knocks out one tomorrow, soon there will be a rap on your door at night and you would pass unannounced into oblivion.”

These are the words of my late uncle, the honorable Sam C. Blair, who served as a judge of central Missouri’s Cole County. And, as assistant director in the western district of the state, he helped deliver the grand jury presentation that brought the indictment of Tom Pendergast, the political boss in Kansas City, that resulted in his guilty plea and prison sentence for tax evasion. Judge Blair was a man of integrity and unshakable belief in the ideals and laws of our country.

Without due process, I fear we are already on the brink of that dreaded rap on the door at night. It’s frightening to see farm workers chased through the fields and taken away by masked men. I am concerned for immigrants who are sent to a country they do not know.

I do not understand how the Supreme Court can face the American people in light of its recent decisions. This is a good country, with many generous and kind people. The Court’s actions do not reflect our character, or our laws.

I am sadly disillusioned.
