Clark, Wilma J. 1934-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Wilma (Willie) J. Clark, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 3, 2025. Wilma was born Dec. 7, 1934, in St. Joseph, to the late Floyd and Xerma Dowdy.

She was a 1952 graduate of Lafayette High School. She married Eugene (Gene) Clark on Aug. 21, 1952. They celebrated 57 years of marriage until his passing Feb. 12, 2011.

Willie and Gene were active in Marriage Encounter as a lead couple for many years. Willie held various office positions over the years while raising seven children. She was very active in her church, St. Francis Xavier, volunteering for numerous committees and ministries.

In addition to her husband and parents, Willie was also preceded in death by her son, Chris; daughter-in-law, Darcy Clark; brothers, Noel and Tom Dowdy; and brother-in-law, Bob Hale and Norman Clark.

Willie is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Randy) Rowland, Renee (Jay Balsamo) Clark and Jami (David) Guck; her sons, Pat (Suzanne) Clark, Sean Clark and Andy (Ronna) Clark; grandchildren, Whitney (Patrick) Gaume, Tyson (Krystle) Henton, Chelsea (Joshua) Teater, Ian (Jon) Clark, Bob (Katrina) Clemens, Rocky (Christy) Clemens, Brittany (Billy) Cantley, Carter Clark, Bryce Clark, Tyler St. Louis and Brock St. Louis, Jackson Guck, Jaren Guck, Kailyn Guck, and Rilynn Guck; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Sandie Hale; and brother, John Dowdy; sister-in-law, Connie and Lavonne Clark, Judy and Donna Dowdy; brother-in-law, Robert Clark; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to St. Francis Xavier Church, House of Bread Food Pantry or Bishop LeBlond High School. Rosary for Willie will be held Monday, April 7, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church beginning at 6 p.m. with a visitation following until 8 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church starting at 11 a.m. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
