TROY, Kan. – Carol Whetstine, 85, formerly of Highland, Kansas, passed away Feb. 6, 2024, at her home in Troy, Kansas, surrounded by family.
Carol was born on June 27, 1938, in St. Joseph, Asa and Wilma (Blakley) Mace.
Carol married Ray Lee Whetstine on June 26, 1954, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Fanning, Kansas.
In addition to Carol’s dedication to family and friends, she had many passions. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting and painting.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billie Mace; sister, Jackie Saville; granddaughter, Robin (Rodgers) Lowe; great-granddaughter, Addison Lowe; sons-in-law, Gary Kafer and Ronny Rodgers.
Survivors include her children, Darlene McNemee (Bill), Darla Hedrick (Guy), Glenda Rodgers and Daniel Whetstine (Sheri); 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lou Bechtold; brother, Leon Mace; numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol’s wishes were to be cremated under the direction of the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home.
There will be a family gathering 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at the Community of Christ Church, Fanning, Kansas, with a public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.
