Winter Weather Advisory
Winter Weather Advisory

By Meteorologist Jared Shelton

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas, ahead of the chance for light freezing rain across parts of the area Friday afternoon and evening.

Buchanan, Doniphan, Brown, and Atchison counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13. Andrew, Holt, Dekalb, Nodaway, Atchison, Gentry, and Worth counties in Northwest Missouri are included in the advisory from 2 p.m. until Midnight on Friday, Dec. 13.

Light freezing rain could result in a glaze of ice on area roadways through the period, making travel hazardous.

Temperatures are anticipated to rise above freezing late Friday night, curtailing any ice concerns as chilly rain continues into the early hours of Saturday, Dec. 14.
