Jacqueline Joanne Riley-Price, 87, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at a local health care facility. She was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Emily (Stevens) and William Mapel.

Jackie graduated from Clarksdale High School. She later moved to Wichita Kansas, where she worked and retired as a Custodian from the USD 259 School District in Wichita. Following retirement, Jackie moved to St. Joseph to be closer to her family. She devoted many years as an avid bowler, and was a talented stained glass artist. She will also be remembered for her love for animals.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, John Price; daughter, Regina Riley; and brothers, Eugene Mapel and Billy Mapel.

Survivors include: nephews and nieces, David (Diana) Mapel, of Daytona Beach, Florida, Steven (Lori) Mapel, of Kansas City, Missouri, Diane (Tracy) Cameron, of St. Joseph, Robin (Clark) Gunion, of Kennewick, Washington, Roger (Jerri) Mapel, of St. Joseph, and Michael Mapel, of St. Joseph; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside Services and Interment will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the graveside service at Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital or the Kansas City Zoo.
