Carr, Jerry L. 1936-2025 Prescott, Ariz.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Jerry L. Carr was born July 18, 1936, in St. Joseph. He passed away Aug. 24, 2025, at the VA Hospice in Prescott, Arizona.
Jerry was born to Leo O. Carr and Helen R. (Worthen) Carr and was the eighth of 10 children. On July 22, 1953, Jerry enllisted in the United States Marine Corp. One month after that he gave his life to Jesus and was baptized on base at Camp Matthews, San Diego, California. While in the Marine Corp, Jerry earned an award for Sharp Shooter. Jerry served in Korea, then Okinawa, Japan. Jerry was Honorably Discharged to the Marine Corp Reserves in Dec. 1956. He used the GI Bill to go to barber school. Then he met his wife, Judith, who was from Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Helen; his brothers, Homer, George, Wallace, Jack, Basil and Douglas; his sisters, Glendora, Wanda and Delores; and his daughter, Teena (Carr) McNutt.
Survivors include his son, Douglas Carr; stepson, Patrick Riccardo; stepdaughter, Josephine Riccardo; and devoted friend and caregivers, WQanda Peuse-Voris and Don Stiff.
Military Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Prescott National Cemetery, 500 AZ-89, Prescott, AZ 86301. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
