Fields, Judy A. 1944-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Judy Ann Fields, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri. She was born Dec. 1, 1944, in St. Joseph, daughter of, the late Virginia and Orville Kerns.
Judy graduated from Gower, Missouri, High School and NW Missouri State with her Bachelor’s Degree. She went on to work at Missouri Western State University as a Research Analyst for 40 years. Judy Ann was a record keeper of all things, she kept track of everything from weather to books and everything in between. A lover of numbers, reading, many puzzles, and her vegetable garden. She was a member of Red Hat Society, Optimist Club and volunteered frequently at the church, McCarthy Baptist.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Ray Fields; brother, Danny Kerns; and sister-in-law, Enola Kerns.
Survivors include sons, Sean (Tricia) Fields, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Eron (Dana) Fields, of St. Joseph, and Devin (Mahsa) Fields, of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Dakotah, Corbyn, Demie, Cheyanna, Javelyn, Jordan, and Sebastian; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Serenity and Ronnie; brothers, Wayne (Betty) Kerns and David Kerns; sister, Nancy (Robert) Hoffman; brother-in-law, Paul (Jeanette) Fields; and beloved friend, Gary Lacy.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. The Interment will follow at Kerns – Freeman Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. Memorials are requested to the Cornerstone Baptist Church or Second Harvest.
