Correll, Esther N. 1937-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Esther N. Correll, 88, St. Joseph, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025. She was born Jan. 1, 1937, to Oliver and Carrie L. (Wigger) Thornton, in Clarksdale, Missouri.

She was married to James Kennard Correll on Feb. 26, 1972. Their union was a testament to their shared values until James’s passing on Feb. 13, 2002.

Esther spent 34 years as a facilities specialist at AT&T, where her contributions were invaluable.

She enjoyed crocheting. Her culinary skills were no less impressive, as her kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious aromas.

Esther loved taking leisurely rides to Jamesport, Missouri. Those who knew Esther will fondly recall how her presence felt like a safe harbor – she was a steadfast presence, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. She had a deep faith in the Lord. Her love for houseplants and flowers was a testament to her nurturing spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; children, Anna Marie Kinney and Larry Correll; great-grandchildren, Haylee Bills and Brenden Burnett; and numerous siblings.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie Moss (Paula), Randy Moss (Kim), Peggy Wood (Michael), and Kerry Gann; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank Pastor Dean Eikenberry and Mosaic Hospice for their care and support.

Farewell Services 1 p.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family gathered with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
