Looking for something to do in St. Joseph this weekend that’s festive, family-friendly, and full of community spirit? You’re in luck—this weekend is packed with music, culture, fun activities for kids and meaningful ways to give back.

Celebrate Culture at the 56th Annual St. Patrick’s Fiesta

One of St. Joseph’s most cherished traditions returns this weekend! The 56th Annual St. Patrick’s Fiesta kicks off from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, at the St. James Parish Gym (5815 Pryor Ave).

Expect a lively evening featuring traditional Mexican food, live and silent auctions and a fantastic lineup of music. Don’t miss a special performance by Mariachi Fuego from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by Kansas City’s own Mexican-American fusion band Stranded in the City from 8 p.m. to 10 pm.

The celebration continues from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at St. Patrick Church (1723 South 12th Street). The night features a delicious variety of Latin American cuisine, fun kids’ activities and a vibrant folkloric dance show at 7 p.m.—complete with dancing horses. It’s an event full of heart, heritage, and high energy. Why siesta when you can fiesta?

Make Your Morning Magical with the Inspired Concert Series

Start your Saturday morning with joy at inspireU Children’s Discovery Center (521 Felix Street) with the Inspired Concert Series. At 10:30 a.m., beloved children’s performer Will Stuck takes the stage with a show bursting with music, storytelling, education, and laughs. This fun-filled concert is included with general admission and is perfect for families with young children.

While you're there, take full advantage of inspireU’s 50,000-square-foot interactive facility, packed with engaging exhibits and play zones tailored for kids up to age 10. The center is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and you can learn more or grab your tickets at inspireu.com.

Give Back: Stuff the Bus with United Way

Wrap up your weekend by making a difference. The 17th Annual Stuff the Bus School Supplies Drive, presented by Mosaic Life Care and coordinated by United Way of Greater St. Joseph, is happening Friday and Saturday at both North and South Belt Walmart locations.

Volunteers will be onsite collecting school supplies to help local students start the year strong. Donations will be distributed through United Way’s network of partner agencies, including The Salvation Army. Want to pitch in by volunteering or organizing your own supply drive?
