Wanda June Stufflebean, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Mosaic Life Care, in St. Joseph. She was born June 8, 1931, daughter of Byrda (Summers) and Byron Lamb.

Wanda spent most of her youth in the Kansas City area and attended Northeast High School. On March 22, 1947, she married Thomas Stufflebean in Paola, Kansas. She worked as a Seamstress for Sun Garment and H.D. Lee, and later worked a few years at Peachtree Door. She enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful cook. She will especially be remembered for her pies.

Wanda was a member of the former Hyde Valley UMC and now Evolution UMC, where she was a member of the Quilting Circle.

Wanda was preceded in death by mother, Byrda Baker; father, Byron Lamb; husband, Thomas Stufflebean; sister, Donna Staggs; brother, Charles Lamb; and grandson, Timothy Stufflebean.

Survivors include: her sons, Ronald (Teresa) Stufflebean and Thomas Stufflebean, all of St. Joseph; granddaughters, Leeanne Stufflebean and Cari (Rich) Shuster; great-grandsons, Carson, Cyson, Gage and Dreykin; great-granddaughter, Mallory; two great-great granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Stufflebean has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Plattsburg, Missouri. Memorials are requested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
