Grayson, Margaret L. 1936-2025 Kansas City, Mo.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Margaret L. Grayson, 89, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at North Kansas City Hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1936, in Highland, Kansas, to John and Ruby (Haskell) Pennel.

Margaret married Donald E. Grayson on May 7, 1960. They shared 62 years of marriage before his passing on August 16, 2022.

She was a homemaker and ran a daycare in her home for 50-plus years. She loved to read and go shopping.

Margaret loved the Lord and served Him as a longtime member of the church and usher board at First Baptist Church in Elwood, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald E. Grayson; granddaughter, Alicia Norwood; and three sisters, Veva Lovejoy, Juanita Sublett, and Florence Pennel.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Grayson and Bari Grayson, both of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, John Pennel Jr., of Hiawatha, Kansas; sisters, Joann Anderson, of Topeka, Kansas, and Phyllis J. Dydell, of Highland; three grandchildren, Austen Hardin, David Hardin IV, and Aalayah Norwood; seven great-grandchildren; nephew and nieces.

Farewell Services noon Thursday, July 24, Davis Temple, Plattsburg, Missouri. Interment Mount Washington Cemetery, Plattsburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
