Miller, Laralee 1945-2025 Wathena, Kan.

WATHENA, Kan. – Laralee Miller, 79, of Wathena, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home. Laralee was born on Nov. 9, 1945, in California, to Oliver Earnest “Pat” and Freda (Kerns) Neeland.

She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Wathena. Laralee was Wathena City Clerk for over 10 years and retired from Bartlett West.

Laralee married Steve Miller on Sept. 20, 1986, in St. Joseph. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and Michael Austin.

Additional survivors include children, Mickey Whitten (Robin), Annette Long (James), and Jay Whitten; grandchildren, Nathan, Jackie, Kalonie, Dominque, Katie, Kiersten, Amber, Samantha and Lindsey; siblings, Dennis “Gene” Neeland and Anita Smith; numerous great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

There is no scheduled visitation.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Freeman Kerns Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. Memorials: Wathena Ems.
