Bonnie Louise (Templin) Hartigan, 95, of St Joseph, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her children, June 7, 2025. She was born to Leslie F. and Ada G. (White) Templin, Jan. 16, 1930, in Carthage, Missouri.

Bonnie was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1947, and attended St. Joseph Junior College. On Dec. 27, 1949, Bonnie married Leonard R. Hartigan at Cathedral of St. Joseph.

They were married 55 years when he preceded her in death.

In her younger years Bonnie was the 1st attendant of the Apple Blossom Parade and modeled for Einbenders clothing store in St. Joseph. She worked as a receptionist for a local eye surgery center for over 10 years. A member of Cathedral of St. Joseph, where she served on the Altar Society, the funeral lunch team and member of the church choir for 75 years. She was a member of the United Way of St. Joseph and served on the appropriations committee and also read to school aged children for a number of years. She was recognized by the Heartland Hospital East Board for over 25 years of service on the hospital guild.

Bonnie had many hobbies; sewing, quilting, knitting, water color, sketching, pattern dancing and playing the piano. She enjoyed Thursday night outings with family and friends for more than 60 years. Family was the most important thing to Bonnie. She hosted dinner every Sunday, even holding true to that each week up until her passing. Bonnie had a warm and welcoming personality, sometimes spunky, that drew people to her. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; infant grandson, Chad Griffith; brothers, and wives Earl and Betty Templin, Ralph and Rene Templin; infant sister, Marjorie Templin; in- laws, F. X. and Eileen Hartigan, Richard and Mary Alice Hartigan, Ben Sr. and Carol Weddle; niece, Kathy Hartigan.

Bonnie is survived by children, Bob Hartigan, St. Joseph, Teri Roberts, St. Joseph, Jim (Lisa) Hartigan, Daphne, Alabama, Betsy (Ted) Reichman, St. Joseph, Nancy (Lincoln) Sorensen, Town and Country, Missouri, Jan (Andrew) Peters, Billings, Missouri, Joan (Steve) Polaski, Ridgedale, Missouri, Karen (Kurt) Thompson, Cameron, Missouri; 19 grandchildren, Lisa (Dave) Gall, Dr. Kelly Griffith-Bauer, Lucy (Ryan)Bauer, Skyler (Jennifer) Polaski, Kayla (Craig) Feiser, Lincoln Jr. (Claire) Sorensen, Kaitlyn Roberts (Chip Davis), Mason (Sarah) Polaski, Gracie (Mike) Schroeder, Laura (Matt) Byrd, Kirby Polaski, Rylie Roberts, Lindsay (Tim) Gordon, Mackenzie (Jeff) Boothe, Alex Roberts (Catherine McCurley), Kevin Thompson, Amberleigh (Matt) Collins, Trevor Hartigan, Parker Hartigan; 27 great- grandchildren, Braxton Griffith, Jack (Raeven) Gall, Frank Gall, Jaiden Davis, George Bauer, Harry Bauer, Carter Byrd, Eilan Feiser, Jarek Polaski, Peter Bauer, Kate Byrd, Lincoln Sorensen III, Frances Sorensen, Indie Feiser, William Gordon, Jameson Gordon, Parker Byrd, August Boothe, William Schroeder, Janie Schroeder, Walker Gordon, Blaire Collins, Theia Byrd, Eleanor Boothe, Murphy Boothe, James Collins, Dawson Gordon, Griffin Boothe; beloved nephews and nieces; loving neighbors and friends.

Memorial fund to Cathedral of St. Joseph.

Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, with visitation following. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Cathedral of St. Joseph. Burial following mass at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph.
