SAVANNAH, Mo. – Geraldine “Gerry” Fry Hall, Savannah, Missouri, passed away on May 26, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Gerry was born to Thomas and Camilla (Kirk) Fry on Nov. 20, 1933, in Plattsburg, Missouri.

Gerry attended Central Methodist College and the University of Missouri with a master’s in social work and achieved Phi Beta Kappa Honors. Gerry was employed by the state of Missouri as a social worker where she touched many lives throughout the years.

She married Franklin L. Hall, Bucklin, Missouri, in the Montgomery City Christian Church on July 13, 1956. They were married 61 years when he preceded her in death in 2017. They welcomed two children into their lives, Paula Martin and Tom Hall.

Gerry is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hall; parents; and three sisters, Eve, Edith, and Theo.

She is survived by children, Paula Martin and Tom Hall and wife Belinda “Bee”; three grandchildren, Danica (Travis) Steeby, Dirk Martin and Cody Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, Jaiden (Jonathon) Wheat, Cambrielle, Keifer and Chloe (Brayden) Steeby, Darin, Kaitlynn and Shelbi Martin; and great-great- granddaughters, Jasmine and Jacelyn and baby Martinez on the way. Special people in her life included Jo Spriggs, Cody Steeby and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to be held at the Savannah City Cemetery on Friday, May 30, at 3 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Student Scholarship of the First Christian Church, Savannah, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
