GEORGETOWN, Texas – Vernie Shat, 87, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was born Jan. 14, 1938, in Deer, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella Shat; daughters, Laverne Habig, Cindy Shat, Sheila Pottenger, Leona Holahan, and Corey Brown.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday with a Celebration of life starting at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, 3025, at the 1st Baptist Savannah, 500 E. Pawnee St, Savannah, Missouri. Inurnment; Memorial Park Cemetery.
