Phillips, Becky 1938-2025 Stanberry, Mo.

STANBERRY, Mo. – Becky Phillips, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday April 19, 2025, at her second home in Countryside Village surrounded by her immediate family along with her close friend. She was born in Price, North Carolina, the daughter of A. Bishop and Jennie Snead Clifton.
On Nov. 28, 1959, she married Don Phillips, of Stanberry, Missouri, in Price, North Carolina. They were married for 61 years.
Becky graduated from Drewry Mason High School, in Ridgeway, Virginia, class of 1956, where she was active in the band, choir, and theater group. Later, she graduated from the Danville School of Nursing in Danville, Virginia, where she met her husband, who was serving in the Navy. After they married, they eventually relocated to his hometown, where they raised their two sons and farmed the land.
Becky was very involved in her sons’ activities, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother for both and as a past President of the Stanberry School PTA. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and Missionary Circle, in Stanberry, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School and Bible School.
She was also a member and past President of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and an active member of the Red Hat Society, enjoying their various social outings. Becky had a great love for cats, having cared for fourteen over her lifetime. She also enjoyed flower gardening and photography as hobbies.
Becky and Don loved traveling and took numerous family trips to visit her family in North Carolina and Virginia. Later, they enjoyed many trips to visit Gil and Charlene in their homes in California and Texas. They all enjoyed traveling together on numerous cruises and she was especially fond of their 40th anniversary gift where all four spent a week on Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii that included snorkeling, helicopter excursions, luaus, and deep-sea fishing charters.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Dean Phillips; father and mother; father-in-law, Herschel Phillips; mother-in-law, Mary (Phillips) McNeese; brothers-in-law, C.H. Fallin, Dan Phillips; sisters-in-law, Leah Clifton, Anita Rainey; and nephew, Charles Clifton.
Becky is survived by her son, Gil (Charlene), Phillips, Florida; sisters, Dale Fallin, North Carolina, Bettie Kay, Clifton, Virginia; brother, Ron Clifton; sisters-in-law, Shirley Phillips, Missouri, Judy Phillips (Paul Oliver), Missouri; brother-in-law, Richard (Dee Dee) Phillips, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Jen, Chad, Kim, Kerri, Zac; and Don’s nieces and nephews, Jill, Jackie, Julie, Barb, Chris, Jake, Angie, Melissa, Louise, and Curt.
There are no scheduled funeral services. A private visitation followed by a private burial service, in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, was held on April 22, 2025.
